Missy Banks is one of New Zealand’s most promising young talents, already an established figure in the Canterbury Magicians setup despite her youth. Making her List A debut at just 15 in February 2017, she has since racked up 137 appearances, captained the New Zealand U19s in February 2021, and featured in the high-profile NZ North v South clash in March 2023. A genuine pace-bowling all-rounder, Banks has been at the heart of Canterbury’s recent success, helping secure multiple titles including the Hallyburton Johnstone Shield (2016/17, 2021/22) and Super Smash (2021/22, 2022/23). Her individual excellence has been recognised with Canterbury Women’s “Bowler of the Year” and “Players’ Player” honours in 2021/22.
With her sights firmly set on national selection, Banks has sought to broaden her game overseas, enjoying two prolific seasons in England. She starred for South Northumberland in the Northumberland Women’s Cricket League with 300 runs at 75 and 11 wickets at 9.82, before dominating for Plymouth in Devon, where she amassed 704 runs at 78.22 and claimed 18 wickets at 21.61 (as of 13 August 2025).
Confident with bat and ball, competitive by nature, and proven in both domestic and overseas conditions, Banks now has her eyes on a third consecutive Northern summer in 2026 — ready to bring her match-winning skills, leadership experience, and relentless drive to succeed to any side she joins.
