** Updated profile for 2025 coming soon... **
Montcin Hodge is an accomplished opening batter who has represented the Leeward Islands for over a decade in West Indian domestic cricket. The Anguilia run machine has been a stalwart for Leeward’s dating back to his first-class debut during the 2007/18 season.
Hodge, who benefits from a British Passport courtesy of Anguilla’s British Overseas Territory status, has played with and against some of the legendary names in West Indies cricket throughout his career. In recent seasons, he’s shared the Leeward’s dressing room with the likes of Windies stars Rahkeem Cornwall, Kieran Powell, Sheldon Cotterell, and Alzarri Joseph, to name but a few.
The opening bat is approaching 100 first-class matches, and during his illustrious career has racked up well over 4,000 runs with 4 centuries, and an average nudging 30.
During the second half of his career, Hodge has become a stand-out performer for Leeward’s with season averages of 50.12 (2015/16), 41.06 (2016/17), 27.89 (2017/18), and 39.20 (2018/19), 26 (2019/20), 27.66 (2021/22), and 32.85). In 2018/19, he was Leeward’s highest run scorer (711 runs), and second to Devon Smith on the WICB red ball run charts.
Courtesy of these exploits, he has generated national interest, representing West Indies A (2017-19), and the Board President’s XI (2016/17).
The Anguilla star has also enjoyed success abroad. He represented the MCC Young Cricketers in the 2nd XI County Championship in 2006, before 6 seasons as league pros for clubs including Lancaster (2007), Ashton (2009), Quarndon (2010), New Farnley (2012), Hanging Heaton (2013), and Whitley Hall (2023).
After yet another strong season in the Yorkshire Cricket Southern Premier League last summer (561 runs at 29.53), Hodge is now plying his trade in the Warwickshire League for Handsworth this summer.
