Murvin Abinash, a front line off spinner from Jaffna a Northernly City in Sri Lanka.
Currently plying his trade for Burgher Recreation Club, the Sri Lankan has established himself as a proven performer in domestic cricket, amassing 29 First Class wickets and 47 List A wickets, with standout best figures of 8-53 in the white-ball format.
The 2023 season was a breakthrough year for Abinash, finishing as one of the leading wicket-takers in Sri Lanka’s Major League List A competition. Determined to build on that success, he is targeting another strong campaign in the 2025/26 domestic season.
With the bat, Murvin can provide valuable lower-order contributions, capable of counter-attacking and shifting momentum, highlighted by his career-best 96 not out in professional cricket.
Following in the footsteps of CricX stalwart Raminda Wijesooriya and several fellow Sri Lankan cricketers who have flourished on UK soil, Murvin now seeks his first UK season in 2026.
Highly recommended by Raminda Wijesooriya, Murvin comes well-backed by trusted sources and would be an excellent addition for any club seeking a proven frontline spinner with all-round capabilities and professional experience. He signed for Eccleshall CC for the 2026 UK season and had a solid first season as a club professional in a good standard of cricket (41 wickets @ 22.88 and 499 runs @ 23.76). He unfortunately did not complete his UK coaching course however, meaning he is not currently eligible to return to the UK until the course is completed.
