Musawenkosi Siyabonga Twala (‘Musa’) is a dynamic wicket-keeper batter who represented the South Africa Emerging Players in August 2023.

Musa has steadily risen through South Africa’s domestic ranks. After making his first-class debut for Easterns in 2019 and impressing with a commanding 124 against Limpopo in 2021, Musa earned his break at the top level with the Titans in 2022/23. There, he shared the dressing room with international stars like Dean Elgar and Lungi Ngidi, quickly proving that his selection was well deserved despite some initial surprise.

A product of the Easterns pathway and a St Albans College scholarship recipient, Musa also represented Northerns at the prestigious Coke Week in 2018. Seeking more consistent opportunities, and after featuring for the SA Emerging Players in August 2023, he moved to Mpumalanga for the 2024/25 season after limited game time with the Titans.

Musa’s talent isn’t confined to South Africa. He enjoyed a highly successful UK debut with Bovey Tracey in the Devon Premier League, scoring 763 runs at over 40 and chipping in with 21 wickets when not donning the gloves. His follow-up season with Bourton Vale in the West of England Premier League was even more impressive, as he amassed over 1,000 runs at an outstanding 53.16 across all formats.

Known for his dynamic batting and dependable keeping, Musa also caught attention with a standout performance for the Southern Hemisphere XI in the CricX showcase game last summer. Now, eager to build on his overseas success, he’s set to return to the UK in 2026, ready to make an impact with both bat and gloves once again.
