Nangeyalia Kharote is an exceptional prospect destined for the big stage.
Having dominated the ICC Under-19 World Cup (Jan 2022) in the Caribbean (9 wickets at 16.44), the left-arm spinner has since excelled in various domestic tournaments in Afghanistan (Shpageeza T20, Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan Provincial Grade One Day, and Mirwais Nika Regional 3-Day), and the Pakistan Junior League (Oct 2022).
Kharote is a genuine all-rounder – a left-arm orthodox spinner and hard-hitting batter capable of batting throughout the order. In fact, he opened the batting for Afghanistan in the Caribbean and filled the number 4 slot during his victorious PJL campaign for the Bahawalpur Royals.
However, it’s with the ball that Kharote is making a name for himself. He has starred in his 20 professional white ball outings to date with List A, and T20 averages of 17.75, and 16.64.
The Afghanistani all-rounder is set for stardom, mark our words. But, for now, the youngster is seeking an opportunity in UK club cricket in 2023 to continue his development. Whichever club signs him will be set for plenty of runs and wickets, that’s for sure.
