Nicholas Catt is a promising batting all-rounder playing for Old Parktonians (Old Parks) in Gauteng’s Premier (1st XI) and President’s (2nd XI) League.
An opening, or top 4 batter who bowls brisk medium pace, Catt has started to establish himself at Premier club level, following a dominant school career.
Playing for Parktown Boys’ High School, Catt was a stand-out in the 1st XI. He skippered the side towards the end of his schooling and was awarded full colours for cricket. Catt was also a Gauteng provincial age-group trialist in both 2018 and 2019.
Over the past few years, Catt has transitioned to club cricket, playing in the Gauteng competitions. Starting in Old Parks’ 3rd XI, he was named “bowler of the season” in his first year. He also captained the side on several occasions.
Catt quickly progressed to the 2nd XI, who play in Gauteng’s President’s League. After a century and two fifties, he was promoted to the topflight, where he currently features.
He is hoping to cement his spot this summer and continue his development with a season abroad. Catt’s father was UK-born; therefore Nicholas qualifies for a British Passport – something he is in the process of obtaining prior to the UK season.
