Nishan Peiris is a highly skilled off-spinner widely regarded as one of Sri Lanka’s finest talents in the domestic circuit. Long considered the best off-spinner in the country, Nishan earned well-deserved international recognition when he made his Test debut against New Zealand in September 2024. He announced himself with an impressive match performance, taking 3/33 in the first innings and an outstanding 6/170 in the second, helping Sri Lanka secure a commanding innings and 154-run victory. His six-wicket haul featured key scalps including Kane Williamson, Tom Latham, Rachin Ravindra, Tom Blundell, Glenn Phillips, and Mitchell Santner—highlighting his ability to perform at the highest level under pressure.

Nishan boasts an excellent professional record with first-class best bowling figures of 8/94, a List A best of 5/16, and a T20 best of 3/4.
