Ollie Armstrong is a right arm medium fast paced bowler who has just finished university playing for Durham UCCE (University Centre of Cricket Excellence) and is currently playing in the Home Counties Premier for Oxford Downs Cricket Club and also representing Oxfordshire County Cricket Club at NCCA level.
Since playing Ollie has played he has represented Oxfordshire in age group cricket from 14-18 as well as playing in the men’s side in the T20 and 3 day competitions. Regarding club level, Ollie made its debut at 17 for his first team, before completing his first full season in Home Counties division two aged 18. Within that season Ollie took 20 wickets helping his side Oxford Downs gain promotion to the premier division. The following season in the premier division he took 24 wickets enabling them to finish mid table in their first season in the league.
From there Ollie went to Durham University whereby towards the start of his second year made their first team (UCCE). That year Ollie played against major county sides Durham and Northamptonshire in 3 day games, taking 5 wickets including a 3-43 against Northamptonshire. Within Ollie’s second year, the university played against Warwickshire and Durham again whereby he took 3-33 against Warwickshire and 2-22 against Durham, demonstrating his improvement throughout his time at university. Within these games he picked up wickets of newly capped England opener Emilio Gay as well as previous England Lions captain Dan Mousley. As well as that, within the university season Ollie picked up 11 wickets making him the joint wicket taking for his university team.
The seamer is also a keen and qualified coach thats happy to be part of a clubs coaching structure. No doubt a player that will be in big demand.
