Hailing from Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim, the mountainous northern State wedged between China, Bangladesh, Bhutan and, Nepal. Tamang has become a Sikkim legend.

Since then, Tamang has been a stand-out with both bat and ball. More often than not, Tamang opens the bowling and bats in the middle-order. Since COVID, he has season Ranji Trophy averages of 35 / 20.41 (2021/22), 22.37 / 15.03 (2022/23), and, after the opening two rounds of the 2023/24 season, 32.66 / 20.60, with bat and ball, respectively.

In his most recent Ranji outing against Arunachal, he evidences his all-round ability, scoring 86 in the first innings before second-innings figures of 5-42 – his 6th five wicket bag, and 2nd half-century, to go sit alongside his career-best 106 scored during his 2022/23 campaign.

Tamang is a stand-out performer who is now eager to showcase his undoubted skills in UK club cricket. Given his all-round assets, he will be a sought after commodity for the 2024 season.
