Randunu Ganganath is a hugely exciting prospect playing for the star-studded Police Sports Club in Sri Lanka.
He broke into the Police squad last summer (2022/23), where he opened the batting and bowled occasional seam-up. Playing in a side that features Sri Lankan national players including Kusal Perera, Ashen Bandara, Malinda Pushpakumara, and CricX star Priyamal Perera, the youngster impressed during his debut season.
Hailing from the famous Isipathana College (Colombo) whose cricketing alumni includes the likes of Nuwan Zoysa, Asoka de Silva, Asanka Gurusinha, and the legend that is Aravinda de Silva, young Ganganath is a player with quite the future.
A run machine from the top order, Ganganath has featured for Sri Lankan at U15 level, was a stand-out U19 Provincial Player, and is now trying to make a name for himself in professional cricket.
In a view toward his ongoing development, Ganganath is seeking a UK opportunity in 2024 to experience new conditions. It’s envisaged he will be a genuine all-round prospect in UK club cricket – a talented batter and very handy swing bowler, ideal for club wickets.
