Rowen Taplin (19) is a highly talented batsman from Cape Town, South Africa.
The South African has the added benefit of holding a British Passport through his parents, is an attacking left handed opening batsman who scores freely all around the wicket. Taplin is also a a good wicket keeper, but is happy to just play as a batsman.
The left hander is now forging his way in the Western Province Premier League for the famous Milnerton Cricket Club, where he has played a handful of 1st XI games already. At school level Taplin attended the famous SACS (South African College High School), and had a glittering 1st XI career, scoring nearly 2000 runs in 52 games, averaging in the mid thirties.
The British Passport holder travelled to the UK for the 2025 season to play for Callington Cricket Club in the strong ECB Cornwall Premier League. The batter struggled for form during the summer but still recorded a top score of 64 not out against St Austell in the league.
No doubt and exciting young player and one we see as a little gem with his Passport status, and be better for last years experience also.
