Sagar Jadhav is a highly talented all-rounder who, after years of toil, was finally rewarded with first-class selection during the 2022/23 season.
Playing for the strong Mumbai Railways team, he impressed during his 6 outings picking up 11 wickets at 26.63 including his maiden first-class 5-wicket haul, namely 5-34 vs Madhya Pradesh. Jadhav is a genuine bowling all-rounder and produced a highest Ranji Trophy score of 39, despite limited opportunities from the lower order.
His graft towards professional honours started at the Dilip Vengsarkar Cricket Academy, under the watchful eyes of local coaches. Courtesy of his local exploits, he was selected as part of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) Development Squad for IPL 2021, where he acted as a net bowler under the guidance of KKR coach at the time, Brendan McCullum.
A few years later, and Jadhav would finally make his long-awaited Ranji Trophy debut for Railways, but despite his success, didn't feature last summer.
Jadhav is a quality player. A skilful pace bowler, a competent batter. He is also a keen coach, who is actively involved with promoting grassroots cricket in Mumbai, holding coaching clinics and mentoring sessions for aspiring cricketers.
