Sam Swingwood is an attacking, wicket taking leg spinner, an athletic fielder and a versatile left handed batter.
Sam made his way through the county age groups at Gloucestershire and Wales from 10 to 18 and was selected for the Glamorgan Academy where he went on to represent Glamorgan's 2nd XI. In 2022, while with the Glamorgan Academy, Sam joined Cardiff Cricket Club, where he swiftly became an established member of the 1st XI. He was the top wicket-taker for the 1st XI in both 2022 and 2023 in the South Wales Premier League. He racked up best figures of 5/24 and also has a Premier League hat-trick to his name which earnt him a call up to the Wales Minor Counties squad in 2024.
Additionally, Sam is a dynamic batsman who boasts a top score of 87 and is a sharp fielder, finishing in the top ten in the South Wales Premier League for most dismissals in 2024. Having just completed a successful three years at Cardiff University where he was a crucial part of the 1st XI who won the BUCS national universities competition in 2024.
Sam is keen to successfully contribute and be an integral part of a club in Australia during the 2025/26 season. Sam is also an ECB qualified level 1 coach.
