Sandeep Pattnaik is a classy top-order batter and part-time off-spinner who plays across all formats for Odisha in India’s domestic circuit. A former age-group star, he’s steadily carved out a strong career at senior level and is now eyeing a maiden UK stint in 2026.

Pattnaik rose through the ranks as a schoolboy prodigy, dominating national U16 and U19 tournaments. In the 2013/14 Vijay Merchant Trophy, he finished among the top run-scorers (432 runs at 72.00), in a list topped by Shubman Gill. He went on to average 57+ in back-to-back Vinoo Mankad campaigns and earned India U19 Red selection on the back of consistent youth and U23 performances.

He made his Ranji Trophy debut in 2016/17, scoring 454 runs at 32.42 including a debut century (123). After limited red-ball chances over the next few seasons, he returned in style post-COVID. In 2023/24, he hit 440 runs at 36.66 with two centuries in the Ranji Trophy, alongside strong white-ball returns (211 runs at 70.33 in List A; 187 runs at 31.16 in T20s).

The 2024/25 season saw more of the same: 435 runs at 43.50 (FC) and 273 runs at 54.60 (List A), further cementing his reputation as a consistent performer at the top.

With solid form and experience behind him, Pattnaik is ready to take his game overseas — and will be a valuable asset for any UK club in 2026.
