Sandun Madushanka is yet another slow left-arm prospect coming through the ranks in Sri Lankan domestic cricket.
Hailing from St Aloysiu's College in Galle, Madushanka represented the school through age-groups (U13-U19), and was then rewarded with Galle Cricket Club U23 inclusion.
Courtesy of his exploits, he made his senior Galle debut across all formats in 2022 and impressed, particularly in the Major League (first-class) Tournament bagging 22 wickets at 22.45 with best figures of 5-45.
Unfortunately, the return of domestic legend, and fellow SLA spinner, Umega Chathuranga, meant playing opportunities would prove difficult, therefore he has made the move to Nugegoda Sports & Welfare Club this summer.
Madushanka is hoping to play more first-class this season, having already featured in a couple of T20s for Nugegoda. Thereafter, the talented tweaker, who is more than useful with the bat, is seeking a UK club in 2024.
