Sanjula Bandara is an exciting youngster playing Sri Lankan domestic cricket for the prestigious Ragama Cricket Club.
Recommended by world-renowned commentator, Roshan Abeysinghe (Ragama President), Bandara is a genuine all-rounder who bats in the lower-middle order and bowls off-spin.
Bandara broke into the Ragama white ball side in March 2019, making his List A debut. COVID struck, but he returned to domestic cricket during the 2022 calendar year, making his T20 (June) and first-class (September) debuts. He has become a permanent fixture for Ragama across all formats since.
To date, the all-rounder has taken 34 wickets averaging low 30s and whilst batting opportunities have been limited, he has produced a couple of notable scores in domestic cricket.
However, Bandara evidenced his all-round prowess when playing his maiden UK season in 2024. Turning out for Crossflats in division 2 of the strong Bradford League, the Sri Lankan young gun racked up 574 runs at 35.88 with 2 hundreds (as at 09 Aug). Since scoring his maiden ton at the end of June (29th), he has gone on to register a further 2 half centuries and averages 59.17 during this period. With the ball, he has been a consistent performer with 32 wickets at 23.22 with 2 five-fors.
Now an ECB accredited coach, and with a strong maiden season under his belt, the Sri Lankan all-rounder is eager to return to Northern shores in 2025. An excellent option for any club next summer, and someone who comes recommended not only by Roshan Abeysinghe, but several CricX clients who have excelled this UK summer.
