Sarah Barber is a talented batting all-rounder who in recent times has skippered the KwaZulu-Natal Inland Senior Women’s team.
Hailing from Wembley College, Barber represented KZN Inland Under-19s from 14-years-old, and has subsequently progressed to represent the South African U19 Fillies (2018), and U19 Girls (2021).
Originally an out-and-out seamer, over the past few years she has developed her game significantly, from batting in the lower order to batting at 4 of late.
Barber has high hopes of breaking into the senior South African Women’s side in the future, but initially Franchise cricket for Central Gauteng Lions.
Over the past two seasons, she has used her Ancestry Visa to play in the UK, initially for Beaconsfield (2022: Home Counties Women's Cricket League - 407 runs at 58.14), then for Hursley Park (2023: Hampshire Women's Cricket League). She also ventured down under and played a season in Melbourne for Edinburgh.
Subject to how her South African domestic season goes, it may well be Barber entertains yet another UK return in 2024.
