Sean McNicholl (24) is a right-arm seam bowler currently playing for Greenvale Kangaroos in the Victorian Premier Cricket competition. The Aussie due to his Derry (Northern Ireland) born father currently holds both British and Irish Passport.

Over the last three years (two punctuated by COVID) he has taken 85 wickets for the Kangaroo’s first team, highlighted by a 36 wicket 2019/20 season (the second most wickets in first grade) culminated with selection in the Victorian Premier Cricket Team of the Year at the age of 21. Although he’s yet to replicate that form over the past two seasons, which have been played exclusively with a white ball, he has shown a continued improvement in all formats year-on-year and is confident these improvements and the return of red ball will hold him in good stead moving forward.

Sean's success both on and off the field has been recognised with his selection in a Victorian Premier Cricket combined XI (2021) who played the state squad in lieu of Second XI state cricket not running due to COVID. Furthermore, his leadership credentials were recognised by his home club who have included him in the leadership group and appointed him the role of deputy vice-captain despite being one of the younger members of the 1st XI Team.

The quickie traveled to the UK for his maiden stint in 2022 to play in the Cheshire County Cricket League for Bramhall Cricket Club. He excelled taking 40 league wickets and was a popular member of the junior coaching setup, running an age group side, and working with the young quicks at the club.

The Aussie is now keen to use his Irish Passport and play in Ireland or Northern Ireland for the 2023 season. He aspires to play First Class cricket next summer. No doubt a great recruit for any club looking for an Irish Passport holding quick for next season.
