Shahidullah Kamal is an exceptional prospect who made his Test debut for Afghanistan in March 2021 during their 6-wicket victory over Zimbabwe in Abu Dhabi.

Kamal only bowled the 5 overs in the match dominated by a 307-run partnership between Hashmatullah Shahidi and skipper Asghar Afghan and 11 wickets from spin sensation Rashid Khan.

However, his inclusion was justification for his impressive domestic performances since his debut 2017/18 season.

Kamal, who is a destructive batter and slow left-arm spinner, shot to prominence during his maiden first-class season hitting 369 runs at 61.50 in the Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-Day tournament.

Over the next two seasons, he continued to star with season tallies of 663 runs at 55.25 (2018), and 772 runs at 70.18 (2019).

The run machine has now racked up over 2,000 first-class runs with an average of 58.86 in his opening 24 red-ball matches.

He has also enjoyed success in both white-ball formats, averaging 43.77, and 34.59, in List A and T20 respectively.

Not only a punishing batter but Kamal is also deemed a genuine all-rounder, with his left-arm spin accounting for 59 domestic wickets to date across the three formats.

A serious player, Kamal is a star for the future and will be one to watch!
