Sheeno Berridge is a prolific opening bowler who burst onto the Windies domestic scene in 2017/18 and hasn’t looked back.
A latecomer to the game, he broke into the Leeward Islands squad in his late 20s, making his first-class debut in November 2017. He went on to take 24 wickets at 22.62 in the WICB Regional 4-Day Competition. Berridge has since established himself as one of the most consistent quicks in domestic cricket, bagging 25 wickets at 23.76 (2018/19), 18 wickets at 29.88 (2019/20), 5 wickets at 16.20 (2022), and 9 wickets at 25.33 (2022/23) to back up his maiden campaign.
Playing for Leeward Islands, alongside the likes of Windies players Kieran Powell, Alzarri Joseph, Devon Thomas, Hayden Walsh, and Rahkeem Cornwall, Berridge has also been a stand-out in one-day cricket. In fact, he was the Regional Super50’s leading wicket-taker in 2019/20 taking 23 wickets at 18.52, taking the top spot ahead of Windies bowlers Ashley Nurse, Keon Harding, and Oshane Thomas.
At the point of writing, Berridge boasts tremendous domestic statistics – 81 wickets at 24.49, and 36 wickets at 26.25 in first-class, and List A, respectively.
Courtesy of his success, he has been rewarded with West Indies B selection, touring Canada to play two 50-over, and 2 T20 matches. He was also selected to play against Ireland for a West Indies President XI side.
Berridge is now eager to play abroad in 2024 and has targeted his maiden UK stint where no doubt he’ll be a sought-after acquisition.
