Shreyansh Ghosh is an accomplished left-handed batter and a tidy leg-spinner who, after years of dominating Bengal club cricket, was finally rewarded with a long-overdue Ranji Trophy debut in 2023.
His call-up saw him feature for Bengal against heavyweight sides such as Mumbai, Chhattisgarh, and Uttar Pradesh, playing alongside domestic stalwarts like Manoj Tiwary, Sudip Chatterjee, and Abhimanyu Easwaran. It was fitting recognition for a player who had consistently excelled through the state age-group system—topping the U16 run charts in 2010, averaging 50 across three U19 seasons (2011–2013), and establishing himself as a key all-rounder for the U23s from 2014 to 2017.
Despite those early accolades, Ghosh spent the best part of the last decade plying his trade in Bengal’s Super Division. Representing powerhouse clubs such as East Bengal, Barisha Sporting, and Kalighat, he has regularly finished as the leading run-scorer. His 2022/23 campaign with Kalighat was particularly prolific, with three centuries, six fifties, and an average north of 70 en route to a First Division Championship title.
His long-awaited Ranji opportunity saw him play five matches for Bengal in the 2023/24 season. While he didn’t fully ignite the stage—scoring 126 runs with a top score of 41 against Uttar Pradesh—he was finally representing Bengal at the level many felt he had long deserved.
After the Indian domestic season, Ghosh made his maiden UK appearance in 2024 and delivered one of the most outstanding overseas seasons in recent memory. Playing in the Devon league system, he amassed 1,986 runs at a staggering average of 82.75, including 14 fifties and 6 hundreds, and chipped in with 42 wickets at 15.57 across formats. Unsurprisingly, the club secured his services for a second season in 2025, where he has already added 996 runs at 71.14 and 21 wickets at 22.29 (as of 29 July 2025).
Now open to offers for the 2026 season, Ghosh is ideally looking to remain in the South West but is open to opportunities across the UK. A proven match-winner with both bat and ball, he brings experience, consistency, and a fierce hunger to perform.
