Sithum Disanayaka

Sithum Disanayaka is an exciting fast-bowling prospect rapidly emerging through the Sri Lankan ranks. A genuine quick who regularly clocks speeds in excess of 140kph, Disanayaka has become a fixture in the Sri Lanka Emerging Players setup, featuring in overseas tours to Japan (May 2023) and the West Indies (June 2025). His consistent selection at this level is a clear indicator that he is firmly on the radar for higher honours, with many in Sri Lankan cricket circles tipping him as a future international.

Disanayaka broke into domestic cricket with Panadura Sports Club in the 2019/20 season, before a brief stint with Nugegoda Sports and Welfare Club the following year. Since then, he has found a more permanent home with the well-regarded Ace Capital Cricket Club, and most recently, he has taken the new ball for Chilaw Marians in white-ball formats during the 2025 season.

Across formats, Disanayaka has already proven his ability to lead attacks and deliver results. In first-class cricket, he has bagged 44 wickets at 27.04 from 24 matches. In the shorter formats, he has added 37 wickets at 32.16 in List A cricket and an impressive 19 wickets at just 14.21 in T20s. A capable lower-order batter as well, he has produced valuable cameos with top scores of 25* in first-class and 32 in T20.

Now seeking to further his development overseas, Disanayaka is targeting a UK stint in 2026. As a genuine pace bowler with domestic pedigree and national potential, he represents a high-quality overseas option for clubs looking to make a real impact next summer.
