Sonwabile Tshona is a terrific young batting all-rounder from Eastern Cape, South Africa.

A right-handed top-order batter, Tshona is already an established cricketer at both club and representative level. Currently playing for Jendamark United Cricket Club in the Eastern Province Premier League, the young 'Saffa' represented his province from U13 through to U19 level.

At the conclusion of his studies at Graeme College, Sonwabile moved into senior cricket ahead of the 2021/22 season. This was after successfully captaining his College throughout the 2020 season, for which Tshona was awarded Sportsman of the year for his efforts. Graduating into senior cricket the impressive right-handed stroke maker was selected for the Eastern Province Academy, before eventually progressing into the Colts side for the duration of the 2022/23 season.

A reliable and organised player, the 21-year-old carries a consistent technique which enables him to regularly battle the new ball with relative ease. Also a right-arm medium pace bowler, he is capable of bowling valuable overs in the middle periods of one day fixtures. With ambitions to play first-class cricket in the near future, the Port Elizabeth resident has his sights set on a stint in the Northern Hemisphere ahead of the 2024 season.
