Dickwella first came to prominence in early 2022, starring for Ragama U23s in the Sri Lankan Emerging 3-Day Tournament. He finished as one of the competition’s standout performers, scoring 446 runs at an average of 55.75, including a stunning 214 off 276 balls against a strong Badureliya Sports Club attack.
He featured across all formats for Ragama during the 2022 season before making the switch to Kandy Customs for the 2023/24 campaign in search of more consistent opportunities.
While he’s still finding his feet at senior domestic level, Dickwella’s potential has already caught the eye of national selectors. In February 2024, he was picked for the Sri Lanka Cricket Development XI to face the touring Ugandan national side.
