Tom Slane (20) is an impressive all-rounder (seam) from the North East of England.
Slane is a right handed top order batter and front line right arm seamer, who has been a part of the Durham & Northumberland Pathway system for a number of years. He currently plays his club cricket for Felling in the ECB North East Premier League.
The all-rounder has played over 50 games in the North East Premier League scoring over 1000 runs and taking over 60 wickets. This lead to him being shortlisted for the NEPL Player of the year in 2024 – only 4 players made the shortlist out of a possible 132 players. Tom’s highest score in the NEPL is 119* and his best figures are 10 overs – 5 maidens - 35 runs – 5 wickets. Through impressive performances in the league lead to him being selected for Northumberland 1st team playing in the NCCA trophy and playing multiple minor county matches.
Daniel Sherben – Head coach at Northumberland speaks very highly of Tom and said “In this season, I thought Tom was a real leader in the team and was someone who brought a positive attitude to matches and training. He always puts the team first and gives 100% commitment to everything he does.”
Tom’s School cricket coach (Cameron Harris) had this to say about him - “Tom is an outstanding cricketer and young man who I have known and coached Tom for 7 years and have seen him grow immensely as a cricketer. Tom has played for 3 years in the 1st XI and has opened the batting and the bowling for the last two seasons, which is quite an achievement and testament to his all-rounder capabilities which has also seen him represent the county for both Durham and Northumberland.
The all-rounder is now keen to head overseas this winter and no doubt an excellent option for any club seeking a talented all-rounder.
