Yashaswi Rishav is a talented batting prospect playing for Indian domestic side Bihar.

Rishav made his first-class (Ranji Trophy) debut for Bihar in 2020 and immediately impressed, striking a brilliant second innings century (150) against Meghalaya. The following year, he enjoyed a sparkling List A (Vijay Hazare Trophy) debut hitting 67, before racking up a second Ranji century (112*) during his 2021/22 campaign.

Despite his success in Ranji Trophy cricket (averaging 48, 85, and 33.50 during the 2019/20, 21/22, and 2022/23 seasons), regular gametime for Bihar has been limited, with a knee injury curtailing opportunities even further. Nevertheless, Rishav is now back to full fitness and hopes to return to the Bihar fold in the New Year for the 2023/24 Ranji Trophy season.

Thereafter, and assuming he plays 1 further first-class match to become eligible for an International Sportsperson Visa, he is eager to return to the UK for a second stint in 2024. This would be following his maiden season in 2022 when he enjoyed a brief, mid-season, stint with Astley and Tyldesley in the Greater Manchester Cricket League.

Whilst known for his batting ability, Rishav can lay claim to genuine all-rounder status. Originally a leg-spinner, he is still a regular bowler in club cricket, and has rolled out overs for Bihar in the professional game. The talented youngster, who also holds a UKCC level 2 coaching accreditation, is eager to showcase his all-round skills on his return to the UK next summer.
