Nasir Totakhil (18) is a promising left-arm spinner who shot to prominence in September 2017 during the Afghanistan’s Shpageeza T20 Tournament. At the time, the 17-year-old tweaker took 9 wickets at 10.44 to finish eighth on the wicket charts, despite only playing 4 games. He finished behind notable bowlers to include Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi, Tendai Chatara and Gulbadeen Nabi.

His success lead to a first-class debut in October 2017. Playing for Mis Ainak Region in the respective Ahmad Shah Abdali and Alokzay Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-day tournaments, Totakhil took 19 wickets at 25.57 to include best bowling figures of 5-48 against the strong Boost Region.

Due to his domestic success, Totakhil was picked up to play in the inaugural APL (Afghanistan Premier League) in October 2018. He played 2 matches for Kabul Zwanan alongside the likes of Luke Ronchie, Rashid Khan, Wayne Parnell, Colin Ingram and Laurie Evans. Whilst he went wicketless, it was a valuable experience for a young lad destined for higher honours.

The talented tweaker is looking ahead to a big 2018/19 season and thereafter, is eager to spend a season plying his trade in UK league cricket in 2019.
