James Cusack is a classy bowling all-rounder from Brisbane, Australia who has recently expressed his desire to venture overseas yet again ahead of the UK 2023 season.
A right-arm off-spinner who bowls with excellent control, the 28-year-old has developed his game year on year eventually working his way up through the grades in recent times. After spending the 2020/21 season playing in the 2nd Grade at Runaway Bay Cricket Club, James went on to take 13 wickets at 22.38 before deciding to continue his journey and sign for Broadbeach Robina Cricket Club ahead of the 2021/22 season.
His 1st Grade debut for Broadbeach Robina came early in the 2021/22 Season, James then continued to go from strength to strength, eventually finishing the season with 20 wickets at 17.05 (Best: 4/3) for the Gold Coast Premier Side.
Cousin of former Irish International Alex Cusack, James spent the 2019 season plying his trade in Division 3 of the Leicestershire and Rutland League for Melton Mowbray. He enjoyed a productive season – 831 runs at 34.6, including two centuries and four half centuries, whilst also taking 33 wickets at 17.82. The Aussie tweaker is now eager to return abroad in 2024.
Given James’ experience both on and off the field, he would be a brilliant fit for any club looking to add consistent runs and wickets to their senior side next summer.
